About Schmidt
2023-01-28
Jack Nicholson spent his acting career railing against the system, so it’s weird to see the movie icon receive the last of his 12 Oscar nominations playing a reserved insurance agent silently suffering the indignities of old age. And what happens when his RV reaches its final destination, and Jack has the chance to stop his daughter from marrying a foolish waterbed salesman? Jingle All the Way
2022-12-09
Bad dad Arnold Schwarzenegger tries to fix his family problems by fighting the crowds and securing a highly coveted Christmas toy in the madcap holiday film Jingle All The Way. But can Hollywood’s biggest action star defend his comedic reputation against rampaging reindeer, a lecherous Phil Hartman (SNL), or a totally postal Sinbad (A Different World)? And did Jake Lloyd grow up to be such a bratty Darth Vader just because he didn’t receive an action figure? Stop dreaming of becoming a Now Playing Patron and join us this December. Donate Now!

Short Cuts
2022-11-04
Director Robert Altman takes Short Cuts from the lives of 23 unfaithful and guilt-ridden Los Angelenos, and stitches them together in a 3 hour tapestry that stands as one of the most influential films of the 1990s. How do the stories of hit-and-run driver Lily Tomlin, grieving mother Andie MacDowell, absentee father Jack Lemmon, phone sex operator Jennifer Jason Leigh, pantsless painter Julianne Moore, and bad cop Tim Robbins intersect? Justin, Jakob, and Stuart guide you through the celebrity gridlock when you become a Patron this November.

The Addams Family 2
2022-10-28
Home might be where the heart is (along with numerous other body parts), but the open road is where Gomez takes the sequel in Addams Family 2. Will the kooky father convince Wednesday she belongs in the camper with Morticia, Pugsley, Lurch, and Thing after a paternity test indicates she’s actually the daughter of a billionaire scientist (Bill Hader)? And can Uncle Fester really be called a blood relative after a science fair experiment goes awry and turns him into an ink-squirting octopus? Addams Family Reunion
2022-10-21
The Addams Family left syndicated TV and the Broadway stage behind to return to the big screen in 2019 for a kooky hit cartoon feature. Can tweens Pugsley (Finn Wolfhart) and Wednesday (Chloe Grace Moritz) please parents Gomez (Oscar Isaac) and Morticia (Charlize Theron) by conforming to ooky tradition while staying true to their morbid little selves? And is original illustrator Charles Addams spinning in his grave over the way MGM has redrawn his creations? You’ll go berserker for the Mazurka when you Donate for Silver Level this October!

The Munsters (2022)
2022-10-07
Rob Zombie is the last guy you’d expect to revive a classic TV sitcom, but the metal icon has actually been waiting his whole career to cover The Munsters. Should parents be concerned that his Lily Munster will entertain the kiddies by straddling a pole, given that Sherri Moon is playing the part? Or is this prequel “more human than human”... or at least less monstrous than Michael Myers and the Firefly clan… because Zombie understands romance? The Ninth Gate
2022-09-27
Director Roman Polanski has never done things by the book, so it’s weird he’s tasked Johnny Depp with hunting down rare volumes of Satanic lore to open The Ninth Gate of Hell in this 1999 mystery. Is the Devil in the detailed illustrations of these hardback occultist works, or has he taken human form and committed a string of international murders in libraries? And why is the Edward Scissorhands actor all butterfingers when it comes to sexy guardian angel Emamnuelle Seigner? The answers are available when you enter into Now Playing patronage.

Addams Family Reunion
2022-09-17
I don’t remember seeing Tim Curry and Darryl Hannah in previous portraits of this spooky clan, but somehow they’re the ones inviting audiences back to TV in 1998 for an Addams Family Reunion. Are they, Fester, Lurch, and Thing able to survive a weekend at a sunny California resort with backbiting yuppie relatives? And could Pugsley possibly have found a soul mate in future Disney Channel star Haylie Duff (Lizzie McGuire)? Donate for Silver Level and take a waltz on the wild side with Brock, Arnie, and Stuart as they keep step with this kooky franchise.
